Since museums are, in accordance with the Law, required to publish a catalogue within two years after the opening of a permanent exhibition, the mentioned publication is a professional work on the exhibited museum objects. It ensures compliance with the Law, advances museum activity to a higher level, and significantly improves access to information, ultimately leading to the main goal – a higher number of museum visitors. For better understanding and presentation of each collection individually, the guide will enable visitors easier and better communication with the large number of museum objects displayed in the permanent exhibition of the Regional Museum, as well as adequate familiarization with the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Bijelo Polje region. The author and coordinator of the project is Željko Raičević, ethnologist and museum advisor. The guide will be realized with funds from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Montenegro within the Cultural Heritage Protection and Preservation Program for 2013.
