The status of cultural property in Montenegro is granted to any immovable, movable, and intangible asset for which it has been determined, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Cultural Property, that it has permanent historical, artistic, scientific, archaeological, architectural, anthropological, technical, or other social significance.
A cultural property may be in state or private ownership.
