By implementing the project “My City – My Museum,” the Museum aims to improve and enhance the city’s cultural offer by using educational and creative content to help children, at the earliest stages of their schooling, acquire basic knowledge of museology and the rich cultural and historical past of their city.
The project consists of two phases: the first phase is intended for primary school students, while the second phase is planned for the following year and will be aimed at secondary school students.
The project also consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes expert lectures on the topics: “Museology and the role of museums in the modern world” and “Cultural properties: concept and significance.” The practical part of the project includes visits to cultural assets and monuments.
The author and coordinator of the project is Željko Raičević, ethnologist and museum advisor.
The project was funded by the Government Commission for the Allocation of a Portion of Revenue from Games of Chance.
