Archaeological site Samograd

The Samograd site is located halfway between Berane and Bijelo Polje, on the left bank of the Lim River, between the ravines carved by the Brzava stream (to the southeast) and the Selina stream (to the northeast).
Initial research conducted by the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of Montenegro and the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade indicated that four cultural horizons can be identified at this site, ranging from the Early Iron Age I (13th–8th century BC) to the period of the most intensive use of the fortification in the 6th century AD.
